Typhoon Queenie

Friday, November 28, 2014
Hey I just wanted to email you guys and say that I am okay. We had a decent typhoon hit us.  We don't have electricity but we are doing fine.  We are trying to help people build some houses.  Only one person died and our house is totally fine.  If you hear anything don't worry. We are good.  Love you

#70 Taught lots of cool people

Monday, November 24, 2014

Hey everyone,
This week has been awesome.  We got to teach a lot of cool people.  It was a lot of hard work but very worth it.  I also played your song for a less active to hopefully help soften his heart.  It went pretty well.  We also had a sweet fireside from President Tanner for Thanksgiving.  Got to see Elder Benjamin.  We are doing a lot trying to help the leadership here so that they can actually do their callings.  The stake president came and tried to help us.  The leadership here is nothing like back home. It makes the worst bishop in America look like a champion. The people don't really have that much drive all the time.

#69 Happy Birthday

Monday, November 17, 2014

Hey everyone,
So this week has been great.  We have been able to find some great new investigators but unfortunately we had to drop one too.  We are starting to see more and more progression in our area.  We have really been working to try to improve the functioning of the branch.  Saturday, the day of my birthday, was a very hard day for us. . I loved the video you sent, but we did not have power the whole day and it was just a hard day of work.  There was a lot of blessings but a lot of hard times too.  We didn't get to teach that many people and we had a couple of people that just wanted to debate us.  It didn't go very well.  The awesome thing was though that we had an awesome day on Sunday.  We taught a lot of people and I made fun of my comp a little bit.  We had good fun with that.  Tuesday I was actually on splits with another Elder and it was really fun.  I have been learning so much from the people that surround me.  I have also been learning so much about myself.  I hope all is well at home. We did have something funny that I will tell you. One of the ladies we were talking too said that she would love it if she could have my nose.  It was an interesting compliment.

#68 Interviews with Pres Tanner

Monday, November 10, 2014

Hello everyone,
We are doing awesome.  This week has been pretty cool.  We had interviews with President Tanner and then my comp got sick.  I was able to go on splits and try to help out some of the people in our district.  We had some great lessons with our investigators but none of them came to church.  We are still working on helping the branch.  We are actually in Tagbilarin right now and I am going to get my shoes fixed. All in all it is great but I am really tired.  I love you all.

#67 Day of the Dead

Monday, November 3, 2014

Hey everyone
This week was decent.  We had some really cool things but we did have some hard days.  With all saints’ day or day of the dead  here a lot of people were at the cemeteries.  Yesterday I had to do a baptismal interview and that went okay.  I couldn't pass the candidate immediately but I have a follow up interview.  Saturday we did a lot of tracting and taught a less active family.  Friday we found some new less actives that are also part member families.  We have some really good potential there.  The other days we had some pretty good lessons and Wednesday was my comps birthday.  He turned 19 so for the next couple weeks we are both nineteen.  P-day we played some b-ball and that knocked us out.  We slept so good that night.  All in all it was pretty good.

I also made some potato chips.  I haven't got a package yet but I am expecting it next week or so.  We still live in the middle of know where.  It is kind of like our house back home.

This is why we were a little later, it did this is like 2 hours

#66 Two new missionaries

Monday, October 27, 2014

Hey everyone
This week has been really sweet.  We just got 2 new missionaries that are assigned in one half our branch. Our area is half the size now but that is nice.  Instead of having 5 cities we now just have 2.  We have about 40,000 people that live in our area so we have plenty of people too tract.  This week we found some cool new part member families.  We are hoping that they can progress well.  This week was cool to see how easy it is too help people.  We were teaching this less active old lady and she just starts going off about how hard her life is and she does have a really hard life but like my dad I don't really like to hear complaining.  I was a little mad at first but as I started to show her that we cared for her she became a lot nicer.  I feel like we learned and she also felt lifted but it didn't happen like I expected it.  We also were able to visit a member in the hospital and we walked through it and of course because I am American they love me.  And I was also wearing my superman socks.  The people all smiled at them.  It was really cool.  I am doing good here.  We haven't got too much rain but it still feels like we are drowning because of the humidity.  Today we are going to play basketball with the new elders and our zone leaders.  I hope everyone is good at home.

#65 Splitting Duero

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

Hello everyone,
We are doing great here.  We have transfer week this week so we have a different schedule.  This week we have been preparing to split the Duero area.  I and my comp are staying here.  And 2 new missionaries are moving in with us.  This last week we were able to teach our normal investigators and find new ones.  Even though the buses here seem to be on the opposite schedule from us we are still able to make it to everyone.  We have been getting some nice rain but it is still hot some days.  Everyone here has been praying every night because that is what they do in October to prepare for the day of the dead.  We are gearing up for Halloween.  We might wear each others ties for Halloween.  We will have the coolest costumes ever.  I hope all is well back home.  I love you all
